It’s 21 November, so we’re halfway through Nanowrimo 2016. This is my second time of doing Nanowrimo and it’s a different experience from the first time, mainly, because I haven’t started from scratch this time. I wanted to use Nanowrimo to finish off a novel I started some time ago and got to about 40,000 words.
In some ways, it has been good, knowing I’ve already got 40,000 words I can use towards the word count. It takes the pressure off, a lot. However, because it takes off a lot of the pressure, it means that I’m not so desperate about achieving a decent word count every day. So far, I’ve written about 65,000 words that I want to be validated although I do have some sections that I’ve cut out. My goal is to write 80,000 words by the end of November but I fear my motivation may not be strong enough. And only 9 days to go to write 15,000 words…..
