My Books – Anne Wrightwell

This gives you a little more information about the books I have written and am writing. The books I have published as ebooks are available on Amazon, Smashwords, Kobo, iBooks and Barnes & Noble.

A couple of years ago, I went on a weekend break to a seaside town in Norfolk with a friend and one of us suggested writing a story about the town. We both did that and because my story had a Christmas theme, we decided to write a collection of Christmas stories. Then we decided to self publish it as a project, both to see how difficult it was to self publish and to see if we could actually complete a project. (I am great at starting projects but not always so good at finishing them.)

The book is The Little Book of Quirky Christmas Stories with stories by myself and my friend, Rose Bishop.

I recently published Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round. This is the Pride and Prejudice with the genders the other way round. The project took a lot longer than I expected and has had a name change on the way (from Pride and Prejudice: The Gender Bender Version) but has been a great learning experience. It got over 500 downloads on Amazon and Smashwords when free (now £1.99) so that made me happy (although I know it would be peanuts to many authors) and still gets the occasional download and purchase.

I am also currently revising the draft novel I wrote during National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo) 2015, Murder and Mittens. The draft version is available for free on Smashwords.

I have also published on Amazon and Smashwords, a short story called The Interview. It was in an anthology of short stories on Amazon but the anthology got pulled for some legal reason so is no longer available. So I’ve published it myself.

I’ve drafted a novella set in the world of The Other Way Round around the character of Mair Bennet (Mary Bennet). I don’t think it has much commercial possibilities though so I’ll be putting up on my website for anyone who wants, to read it for free. I have also drafted a version of it in the usual Pride and Prejudice universe, called Passion and Prudence: Miss Mary Bennet.  I am now working on revising it for publication.

I also have several proposed short story collections that I am working on at the moment. I like to keep busy!
