My favourite Pride and Prejudice fiction

Here’s a list of my current favourite Pride and Prejudice fiction in no particular order. Assumptions and Actuality, L Meredith This is a parody and there are only four daughters. All the names of the characters have been changed. Bridget Jones’ Diary, Helen Fielding. Probably the most famous Pride and Prejudice fiction novel and a perennial favourite of mine. Conceit and Concealment, Abigail Reynolds. This imagines Pride and Prejudice taking place in an England where Napoleon Bonaparte succeeded in conquering…

“Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined”

Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined is by Stephanie Meyer, just in case you were wondering. I thought it might be a parody when I picked the book up or even a version of Midnight Sun, the Twilight from Edward Cullen’s point of view that famously she started writing but stopped because the first few chapters got leaked, but no. It does what it says on the tin, it is Twilight reimagined.  She has taken the story and changed the gender of…

First 3 revised chapters

As promised, here are the first three revised chapters of Pride and Prejudice:The Other Way Round. This is Pride and Prejudice with a twist – all the characters have revised genders and live in a society where women are the dominant sex, so Mr. Darcy is now Miss Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet is Master Elijah Bennet. Chapter 1 – Miss Bingley It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single woman in possession of a good fortune, must be in…

New edition of Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round

Following the not very glowing reviews of Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round and other feedback, I have decided to change the novel and will be republishing it. I will be developing some of the characters more by including some extra scenes, dialogue and description and adding some new characters so as to highlight how having different gender assumptions makes this society different, (hopefully). I plan to put some of the revised chapters up on the website and will welcome any…

Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round

I’ve realised that I said in an earlier blog that I would be making this book free.  At the time, I meant permanently free but I changed my mind for two reasons. One was the amount of work that I put into adapting the book (it took a lot longer than I thought it would) and two, was that I couldn’t put it free on Amazon straightaway. And I found to my surprise that people were buying the ebook, not…

Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round

Just to say that Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round is now on amazon.co.uk at 99p and amazon.com at $1.53. I have been very happy with the number of downloads generated by the free promotion. The book is also now back at 99p on Smashwords, Kobo, iBooks, Barnes and Noble and Scribd. Not so many downloads as on Amazon but still a healthy number!

Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round

My new novel, “Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round” is now available on Amazon, Apple, Smashwords, Kobo, Barnes and Noble, Oyster, Overdrive and Scribd (plus a few others I can’t remember at the moment). Not available on Google Play because they are not accepting any new authors at the moment. “Pride and Prejudice: The Other Way Round” is my take on the Jane Austen classic. It was inspired by my short story, “Mother Christmas”. It is set in a…
